Excerpts from Pro Hockey, WHA 1976-77 (by Dan Proudfoot) Because he's big and fast, and Winnipeg Jets already have an impressive group of defensemen, the team tried converting Hexi Riihiranta into a forward in 1975-76. The results were dismal: Riihiranta seldom got to play and ended up with only nine points. "I've been unfair to Riihiranta," said coach Bobby Kromm, "I've spent half the season trying to make him something he isn't. Well, we've learned."
