Regular Season & Playoff Scoring Record (key)

Excerpts from Pro Hockey, WHA 1975-76 (by Dan Proudfoot)
It's Mike Ford's misfortune to be a defenceman, the position at which Jets have a crowd of willing workers. So, despite an outstanding rookie season in 1974-75, Ford will be fighting for a job this season.
Ford has battled the odds before.
He arrived at Jets training camp in 1974 with one year of minor league hockey behind him, at Port Huron of the International league, and won a job. He then proceeded to earn the best plus-minus rating of any of the Jets defencemen — plus 43, meaning that when he was on the ice, goals were scored on opponents, not Jets.

Excerpts from Zander Hollander Complete Hockey Handbook, 1976-77 (by Reyn Davis)
Put Bobby hull on one point and Mike Ford on the other, and duck ... A sizzling slapshot, fired in a hurry, is Ford's forte ... Only Kevin Morrison of the San Diego Mariners had more goals among WHA defensemen ... Almost gave up hockey in his last year of junior, until a trade from Winnipeg to Brandon took him to Rudy Pilous's command ... when Pilous became the Jets' general manager, he knew where he could find a kid with a great shot, good attitude and fair mobility ... A Jekyll-and-Hyde in that he is hyper on the ice and usually asleep off it ... he literally "gets up" for games by crawling out of bed.
