Indianapolis: Pierre Jarry (Edmonton), Don McLeod (Edmonton); Cincinnati: Jim Troy (Edmonton), Cap Raeder (New England), Steve Sutherland (Quebec); Edmonton: Matti Hagman (Quebec).


The Houston Aeros folded July 6, 1978, when the contracts of thirteen players were purchased by the Winnipeg Jets. The remaining players were then declared free agents.

Purchased by Winnipeg: John Hughes, Scott Campbell, Al McLeod, Paul Terbenche, Andre Lacroix, Cam Connor, Rich Preston, Terry Ruskowski, Don Larway, Morris Lukowich, John Gray, Steve West, Ernie Wakely.

Declared free agents: Lynn Zimmerman, Poul Popiel, John Schella, Larry Hale, Ted Taylor, Ron Hansis, Larry Lund.

All players for the Indianapolis Racers, which folded December 15, 1978, were declared free agents.
