Traveling from Williamsburg to Wintergreen, we started our day with a visit to the easy York County highpoint. That one was an easy one, and so was this one, here in Louisa County. Along the way we made an exploratory visit to the New Kent County highpoint but since it was well back in a field (i.e. ticks and snakes), we passed on it. We also passed on Goochland County's highpoint areas, mainly for the same reason and that it was numerous areas better visited when it's cooler and less green (and hot, humid and snakey).

Finally we came upon the Louisa County apex, conveniently located in the middle of a rural country road, a couple miles south of US-250. The highpoint of the county is right along Jordan Store Road, in front of a home. The road seemed to be the highest thing around, or at least good enough. I stopped right on the road and made like I though one of the tires was low. This was a good enough excuse for Beth and I to get out and inspect the tires. Satisfied, we continued north a tiny bit for our next county, Fluvanna County.
