Colorado is the eminent mountaineering and hiking state, yet I had only done the state highpoint, Mt. Elbert, back in 1995 and nothing until 2002. Over Memorial Day week of 2002, I drove up the East side of the Rockies and hit a number of peaks and highpoints, some high up in the Rockies and some out in the Plains.
